Workshop recordings

Recordings of most public lectures, discussions, and introductions/readouts from the breakout sessions are available via links in the agenda below, by subject matter. An accessible folder to all of these recordings is at this link. Within the folder, recordings are organized as FOGSS_Day#_Order#_Description, but finding what you’re looking for within the agenda below may be easier to navigate. All links are set to expire (by default) on October 14, 2024. If you are interested in viewing recordings after that date, please contact Tim Bartholomaus via tbartholomaus@uidaho.edu, who will be happy to renew access.

Please go to our Grand Central Station webpage for zoom links. The password for the Grand Central page is in an email sent to registrants on April 2nd. Alternately, contact the organizing committee for access.

Agenda

Our agenda is structured to meet the workshop goal of identifying the major research activities that will transform our understanding of the Greenland Ice Sheet. In the agenda below, you will find the gold-highlighted breakout sessions and discussions oriented towards identifying these activities.

On Day 1, we will:

  • Seek a single guiding goal for the Future of Greenland ice Sheet Science.

  • Identify and discuss multiple big missions that, if carried out, will achieve the guiding goal.

On Day 2, we will:

  • Define the specific actions necessary to bring the big missions to fruition.

Additionally, we have a number of talks interspersed with these discussions to inform our community regarding the specific actions by which previous large endeavors came to be. While we sought a broader mix of speakers through multiple invitations to non-male presenters, that better reflect the diversity of our community, these speakers were regrettably unable to participate.

Day 0: Tuesday, April 2

We’re starting off the workshop with an evening plenary talk oriented towards the non-glaciological public, followed by an icebreaker/social with the public and FOGSS attendees. If you’re in town by Tuesday evening, please join us for the lecture followed by a cash bar and hors d'oeuvres.

The public plenary will take place on the 2nd floor of the 1912 Center, 412 E 3rd St, adjacent to Downtown Moscow. We’ll be in the Lecompte Auditorium.

Day 1: Wednesday, April 3

Day 2: Thursday, April 4

Day 3: Friday, April 5
